Being reminded of Diamond & Saez yesterday also reminded me of a story from my distant-past. I worked a bar at the major golf tournament a few years ago for a bunch of rich people in a tent who weren’t all that intelligent, polite, good-looking, brave, or amazing. The lack of politeness is what did the most, though, and I walked away thinking that there’s nothing wrong with taking as much money as we could away from them, all the way up to the point where “going Galt” cuts into total revenue (i.e., 72%).
I had worked for rich people before (actually, quite a lot), but all those jobs were before I finished college and was a lot less political. It didn’t change the underlying feeling, though, that some people just have too much.
