But I don’t see how it’ll work this time, what with the fact that Zimmerman picked a fight with Martin and not the other way around. It’s a big hurdle to get over.
What’s interesting, though, is that the right sees a need to defend Zimmerman. They could have just as easily said he was some random thug who killed a law-abiding citizen and that, if anything, it proves the need for the Stand Your Ground law because Martin should have been allowed to use deadly force and stand his ground.
Is it all just race? It’s hard to see what else could have played a role.
