The entire argument is about control

I know we’re supposed to boo-hoo for this guy who doesn’t want to pay for his employees’ contraception, but you do have to take a moment and think that he really wants to control the legal medications that his employees take. Sorry, but employers shouldn’t have that much power even if the free market gives them that kind of power (the “people can find jobs elsewhere” excuse is typical of people who’ve never been obligated to work a job they didn’t like).

It’s gross and creepy, and the fact that this guy doesn’t even limit his argument to religious-esque businesses but says that any small business owner who disagrees with the government on anything should be given an exemption from that law.

When it comes to employee protections, at least. Which, again, makes me wonder if this guy ever worked for someone he didn’t particularly care for because he had to.
