Stealing a pumpkin is wrong, stealing a house is OK

You know, when you spend thousands of dollars on a trial by jury to make sure that a woman who accidentally picked up a $5 pumpkin gets a criminal record, but then make people who steal houses pay a $2000 fine per house (while still keeping the house), it’s hard to argue that there isn’t a two-tiered justice system in the US.

Which would hopefully make people stop saying idiotic things like “If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime” when talking about peasants, but then “We should all look forward, not backward” when talking about an elite. It at least makes it seem like you don’t care about fairness at all.
