“Parental rights” is a fake argument

Anti-gay and anti-sex activists love to use the “parental rights” argument, i.e., that a parent has a right to keep their kid from learning about sex or the fact that gay people exist at school.

I’d think that marketing to children is probably the biggest violation of “parental rights” out there – here are adults who’s spent years studying research that goes back decades on how to manipulate your child, form their values, and make them pester you to buy stuff, and they have millions of dollars to do it with! But doing anything to curtail that process just isn’t going to happen, because the ordained defenders of parental rights don’t think it’s that big a deal.
